How thoroughly do you screen applicants?
Our client companies establish the screening requirements on each assignment. Depending on the assignment, workers may have their educational degrees confirmed, previous employers may be contacted, personal references may be checked, employment skills may be tested, drug tests may be administered, and criminal background checks may be performed. As of January 1, 2009, GTS e-verifies all applicants.
Do you carry insurance?
GTS provides unemployment insurance, workers compensation insurance, and general liability insurance for our associates placed at our client companies.
What is your fee for recruitment of employees?
Our fees are negotiated to fit the specific needs of a client company. In general, our fees correspond to the education and experience requirements of a particular position.
Are you a day labor company or a temp-to-hire company?
“Day labor” refers to workers who are paid on a daily basis. GTS Staffing pays our associates on Friday for the hours they have worked in the previous week; consequently, GTS is not considered a day labor company. However, GTS will supply workers for assignments that last a day or less. Temp-to-hire and long-term associate placement with our client companies make up the majority of our business.
What kind of employment testing do you offer?
Our general test groups are accounting, call center, clerical, digital literacy, industrial, and software. GTS can test for basic skills such as math, English, grammar, or the ability to read a tape measure. We can test such industrial skills as electrical, plumbing, woodworking, metalworking, hazmat, or forklift skills. Software testing includes Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and others. Clerical testing includes secretarial, receptionist, bookkeeping, and others.
Can I interview candidates for a specific position?
Yes, this is often important to both the employer and the applicant.

When do you accept applications?
Applications are accepted Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
What should I bring when I apply?
While a state-issued ID card or driver’s license and social security card are the most commonly used documents, applicants can choose which documents to present from the Lists of Acceptable Documents on the I-9 form. As of January 1, 2009, GTS Staffing e-verifies all applicants. A current resume is helpful but not required.

How soon will I be offered employment?
Work assignments are offered to applicants when GTS completes the employment screening process, and when there is a match of employee skills with employer needs. GTS reviews applications, employment documents, and I-9 forms for accuracy and completion. Our client companies establish our screening policies. These can include contacting previous employers, checking personal references, drug testing, criminal background checks, skill testing, and medical evaluations.
How much will I be paid?
Our client companies establish pay rates. Skill level dictates pay level.
Do you pay weekly or daily?
GTS is not a day labor employer. Our employees are paid on a weekly basis.
When is payday?
Payday is every Friday.
Do you offer direct deposit?
We offer direct deposit to your checking or savings account, as well as Total PayCard.
Do I need to call the office every day or will someone contact me when a job is available?
Applicants are encouraged to contact GTS periodically, but not on a daily basis. GTS contacts our applicants once their work skills match the needs of a client company.
Do you drug test?
Drug testing is the decision of our client companies. Some companies require drug testing and others do not.
Do I need to bring a police report when I apply?
A police report is not required for the initial application process. Client companies can require a local police report, a statewide police report, or a nationwide criminal background check before a GTS associate is placed in a position at their company.
Does GTS charge me any fees?
No, the pay rate that GTS offers you for your work assignment is the rate that you will be paid. Different assignments have different pay rates. Always check the pay rate before you accept an assignment.
Can I get to your office by bus?
GTS offices in Louisville and Lexington are both located near a bus stop. Learn more about how to visit us.
Does GTS provide transportation to the job site?
No, all GTS associates provide their own transportation to and from their work assignment.
